創業者松田菊男は、関ナイフ産業のブレイド研削専門の職人としてスタートし、その技術を認められ、若くして「卓越技能賞」受賞。その後、自社ブランド・キクナイフを立ち上げ、国内外のナイフショーに展示参加し、世界的な顧客を獲得。大規模な機械生産ナイフが増える中、手仕上げの良さを前面に打ち出したナイフ作りを心がける。ナイフショーでの受賞や専門誌に取り上げられるなど、関のナイフ文化を海外に発信することに尽力する。
The founder of Kiku Knives, Inc., Kikuo Matsuda has started his knife making career as the blade grinder for Seki knife industry at young age. His grinding skills have been recognized and received the “Outstanding Skills Award” from the government.He has then launched his own brand “Kiku”, and exhibited at knife shows both in Japan and abroad. He has won many awards at knife shows and been featured in specialized magazines. His knives are now well known worldwide for it’s custom quality of hand-finishing, and receiving far demands than he can produce. He is committed to promoting Seki’s knife culture overseas.
